Back in April, T-Mobile teased its plans to sell an LTE-enabled version of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, saying that sales would begin sometime in the summer. Today T-Mobile finally spilled the nitty gritty details on its launch plans for the device.
T-Mobile will begin accepting orders for the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 through its website on July 16, with an in-store launch planned for July 23. Pricing will be set at $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $16 each.
As its name suggests, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 features an 8-inch display, complete with a resolution of 1280x800. Other specs include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 3-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 1.5GB of RAM and a 4400mAh battery. The Tab 4 8.0 is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat.
While the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 isn’t the most high-end Android tablet around, it’s got a respectable spec list for its price. Plus, T-Mobile’s Operation: Tablet Freedom offer includes 1.2GB of free cellular data each month through the end of 2014 and 200MB every month thereafter, so T-Mobile’s Tab 4 8.0 could be an option worth looking into for anyone in the hunt for a cellular tablet.
