Since T-Mobile doesn’t offer subsidies on their mobile devices like other carriers do, Magenta’s equipment installment plans (EIP) allow customers to afford a new device by spreading the cost of it out over several months rather than ponying up hundreds of dollars all at once. Now a new rumor suggests that T-Mo may soon give accessories the same treatment.

A leaked memo sent to our pals at TmoNews suggests that T-Mobile will begin allowing customers to purchase accessories with an EIP starting July 20. Details on the program are still light, but T-Mobile’s phone and tablet EIP program lets consumers spread the cost of a product out over 24 months. So for a $199.99 pair of Beats headphones, users would pay $8.30 per month for 24 months.

While mobile accessories aren’t quite as expensive as a full retail smartphone, they can still be pretty pricey. That’s why it’s nice to learn that T-Mo may soon begin allowing EIP payments on those add-ons, making it much easier for consumers to buy premium headphones and other goodies.
