Remember that rumor from last month that claimed that Google was interested in snapping up streaming music service Songza? Well…
Songza has confirmed on its website that it’s been acquired by Google. The company didn’t say much about the deal, but it did say that there are “no immediate changes to Songza” outside of working to make the service faster, smarter and more fun.
Since there aren’t many details available about this acquisition quite yet, it’s tough to say exactly what Google might have planned for Songza. However, I mentioned before that Google could be interested in using Songza’s music curation technology to improve the its own Google Play Music All Access service. As of now, that seems like the most probable explanation for this deal.
What do you think Google has planned for Songza?
