Last week T-Mobile made some major announcements in the form of its Test Drive and Music Freedom offerings. Now it’s Sprint’s turn in the spotlight, as the big yellow carrier held an event in Chicago to share some news.
First up, Sprint says that it’s launching its 4G LTE network in 28 new markets, including Seattle, Cleveland and San Jose. Sprint’s LTE network now covers 471 markets. Sprint Spark is also going live in three new markets: St Louis, Mo.; Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Greensboro, N.C.
Sprint also announced that its rolling out HD Voice voice across the country, right on schedule. Sprint has 28 HD Voice-capable postpaid phones, including the BlackBerry Q10, Nexus 5, HTC One, iPhone 5s and 5c, LG G2, Moto X, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and more.
Starting June 27, Sprint will begin offering a 30-day satisfaction guaranteed deal. Consumers that sign up for a new line of service and aren’t happy with the network, Framily plans or Sprint services will be able to get a refund on their device, service and activation charges if they cancel within 30 days.
On the hardware side of things, Sprint today revealed the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport. This fitness-focused version of the Galaxy S5 comes loaded with Sprint Fit Live for quick access to health apps, MapMyFitness and S Health. Its full spec sheet looks like this:
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport is available for pre-order today and will begin shipping to consumers on July 25. Pricing will be set at $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $27.09 each or $650 full retail.
