Well, this is interesting. It’s been less than a month since Android 4.4.3 began hitting Nexus devices, but it appears that Google may already have another update ready to go.
Google has posted Android 4.4.4 factory images and binaries for several Nexus devices, including the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, the Wi-Fi models of the Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 7 (2013), the cellular-enabled Nexus 7 (2012) and the Nexus 10. All of the images feature the build number KTU84P, up from Android 4.4.3’s KTU84L and KTU84M identifier.
It’s too early to tell exactly what Google may include in an Android 4.4.4 update, but it’s interesting to see that Google has apparently prepped another Android OS update just weeks after pushing Android 4.4.3. Stay tuned and I’ll update you with any new Android 4.4.4 details that surface. Until then, you can stop by the comments section below and share any tweaks that you’d like to see included in this update.
UPDATE: Sprint just revealed that the Nexus 5 will receive an update to KTU84P starting today, June 19. The only change that’s listed is “Security Fix.” If you’ve got a Nexus 5, or even if you’ve got any of the other Nexus devices mentioned above, be on the lookout for an update!
