Now that the HTC One (M8) and One mini 2 are official, it’s time to turn our attention to the other hands that HTC’s got up its sleeve for 2014. We’ve already heard about the Windows Phone 8.1-powered W8, and now we can add the “Eye” to our list of rumored devices as well.
According to @evleaks, HTC is prepping a new smartphone that’s codenamed “Eye” and will launch on AT&T in the fourth quarter of 2014. No spec details for the HTC Eye have been revealed, but the device will reportedly be marketed as “the ultimate selfie phone.”
If the HTC Eye is indeed promoted as “the ultimate selfie phone,” that suggests that it’ll have a pretty impressive front-facing camera. HTC has included wide-angle front-facing shooters in its hardware before, so it’s possible that the HTC Eye could have a high megapixel count or that HTC could include some software tweaks to make selfies easier to capture or make them look better.
Does an HTC smartphone with a high-end front-facing camera sound like something that you’d be interested in?
