The Windows Phone platform hasn’t seen a lot of love from HTC lately, but if a new rumor is to be believed, that could change in the near future.
A new report from @evleaks claims that HTC is prepping a new Windows Phone device referred to as the “W8.” The handset is said to be headed to Verizon with Windows Phone 8.1 in tow as well as BoomSound front-facing speakers and a Duo Camera setup, just like what’s found on HTC’s Android flagship One (M8).
The remainder of the HTC W8’s spec details aren’t mentioned, but if the device does indeed feature both BoomSound speakers and a Duo Camera setup, there’s a possibility that the remainder of its feature set will be high-end.
Verizon hasn’t exactly been known as the go-to carrier for Windows Phone fans in the U.S. However, it did recently add the Nokia Lumia Icon to its shelves, and this HTC W8 could be another nice option for Big Red Windows Phoners, especially those that aren’t huge fans of Nokia hardware.
