Following a leak from a couple of days ago that gave us our first peek at the Oppo N1 Mini, the newest shrunken Android smartphone has been made officially official.
The Oppo N1 Mini is now live on Oppo’s Chinese website, and just as you’d expect, the device looks like a smaller version of the N1 that launched in December 13. The N1 Mini’s got rounded corners, a trio of capacitive navigation buttons and a swiveling camera.
Spec details for the Oppo N1 Mini are still light, but Oppo’s site does confirm that the device has a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1/3.2” sensor. Other specs of the N1 Mini include a weight of 150 grams, 4G LTE connectivity and ColorOS 1.4 running on top of Android.
Other details on the N1 Mini are still up in the air, but it’s rumored that the device has a 5-inch display, down from the 5.9 incher found on the full-size N1. The landing page for the N1 Mini mentions the date June 11, so it’s possible that Oppo will have more to say about its new phone then.
While most folks likely wouldn’t consider a phone with a 5-inch display to be “mini,” the original N1 is a pretty sizable device, and so the N1 Mini is likely quite a bit smaller in comparison. Now we just need to find out the rest of the N1 Mini’s specs so that we can determine if this is a “mini” worth getting excited about or if its another watered down version of a flagship smartphone.
