Following its official debut back in April, the Nokia Lumia 630 is finally going on sale later this week.
Nokia announced today that the Lumia 630 is going on sale in Asia this week, with launches in Europe and the U.S. to follow. The 630, which is the first device to hit the market with Windows Phone 8.1 preinstalled, is priced at €119 ($163 USD) for the single-SIM model and €129 ($176 USD) for the dual-SIM variant.
Nokia’s Lumia 630 features a 4.5-inch 854x480 display on its face, 5-megapixel camera on its backside and a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip at its heart. The device also includes 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, microSD card support and an 1830mAh battery that powers the whole package.
While its specs may not blow anyone’s hair back with raw performance, the Lumia 630 is still a notable Windows Phone device. Not only is it the first handset to come preloaded with Windows Phone 8.1, complete with on-screen navigation buttons, but its got an affordable price that could give a nice little boost to Windows Phone adoption.
Both AT&T and T-Mobile have said that they plan to sell the Nokia Lumia 635, which is an LTE-enabled version of the Lumia 630. The device will hit both U.S. carriers this summer.
