Last week the Samsung Galaxy S5 officially landed on the shelves of the four major U.S. carriers. Now the device is starting to make its way to other operators.
Sprint MVNO Ting announced today that it’s now accepting pre-orders for the 16GB Charcoal Black version of the Samsung Galaxy S5. Pricing for the device is set at $597 — remember, Ting doesn’t deal in subsidies or contracts — and units are expected to begin shipping on May 5.
The Ting version of the Galaxy S5 is similar spec-wise to the models that are sold by the other U.S. carriers. That means that it’s packing a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and 4G LTE connectivity. And while there is a bit of a delay between the S5’s launch on the major U.S. operators and Ting, the wait is less than a month, which is pretty great for all of the Ting customers out there.
