Google announced last week that it would be opening up its Glass Explorer Program to all U.S. adults on April 15, and now that that date has rolled around, the sale has gotten underway.
Just as expected, any U.S. consumer can now become part of the Google Glass Explorer Program by ponying up $1,500 plus tax for a Glass device. Each purchase comes with a free shade or frame, charger, pouch, hard case and mono earbud. The colors available include Charcoal, Tangerine, Cotton, Shale and Sky.
Up until now, Google’s Glass Explorer Program has been invite-only. The company has expanded the program on a couple of occasions, but it’s still been somewhat difficult for some folks to join. Now any adult that lives in the U.S. and has $1,500 to spare can get some Glass of their very own. Obviously this program isn’t for everyone, but it’s great to see Google finally giving everyone an equal chance to get Glass. Plus, today’s offer is good for Google because it gives the company a chance to greatly expand its Glass testing ahead of the device’s public launch later this year.
So now that anyone in the U.S. can buy Google Glass, how many of you are thinking about pulling the trigger?
