The trickle of OnePlus One spec details continues today, as OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has taken to his company’s forums to reveal a couple more of the One’s features.
First up, Lau has confirmed that the OnePlus One will come with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, not the Snapdragon 800 that was previously announced. Lau explains that the switch to a Snapdragon 801 was made because OnePlus wants the fastest chip on the market in its flagship device.
The other spec revealed by Lau is the OnePlus One’s RAM. The exec has revealed that the One will come packing 3GB of RAM. Lau went on to explain that he worked with OnePlus engineers to maximize the One’s performance and that with 3GB of RAM, the user will never experience slowdowns due to a lack of RAM.
OnePlus has spent the past several months steadily pulling back the curtain on its new One smartphone, building hype for the device ahead of its April 23 reveal. The good news is that even though it decided to switch from a Snapdragon 800 CPU to a Snapdragon 801, the OnePlus One is still on track to debut on that date. Now that we’ve got a pretty good idea of what makes the One tick, we just need to know what the thing looks like. Thankfully, the reveal is just a couple of weeks away.
