Looks like another group of wireless consumers will soon get to express their creativity through Motorola's Moto Maker online customization tool.
Republic Wireless has announced that it will add support for Moto Maker tomorrow, April 1, and the first 2,000 people to fill out a registration form on Motorola's website will receive a free upgrade to a wood back for their custom Moto X. Pricing for Republic's custom Moto X hardware will start at $349.99 for the 16GB model and $399.99 for the 32GB model, with wood backsides available for an additional $25. Republic will also continue to offer plain black or white 16GB Moto X units for $299 plus tax.
The Moto Maker customization tool is one of the most attractive features of the Moto X, giving consumers the chance to create a more personal handset using one of several different color combos. Best of all is the fact that Motorola launched the Moto X College Collection earlier this month, meaning that Republic Wireless customers will have even more color options available than other subscribers of other carriers did when they gained access to Moto Maker.
Have you created a custom Moto X using the Moto Maker tool? If so, which colors did you end up choosing?
