Google recently updated its Google Search app for Android, adding new "Take a photo" and "Take a video" voice commands that will automatically launch a device's camera app in the mode that the user asks for. It looks like that's not the only new trick that Google Search has up its sleeve, though, as Google has announced that the app now has a similar command for music.
After tapping the Google Search microphone or saying "Ok Google," users can now tell their device to "Play some music" in order to launch an "I'm feeling lucky" radio station that's based on the tunes that they've recently listened to. In order to take advantage of this new feature, the Google Play Music app will need to be installed on your device.
This "Play some music" feature seems like it'd be most useful to those folks that are Google Play Music All Access subscribers or anyone that's loaded Play Music with a large library of their own music. Regardless of how you consume your tunes, though, this is a pretty neat addition to Google Search, and it's good to see Google continue to improve its app with stuff like this.
