Late last year we saw HP grow its Android tablet lineup with new 7, 8 and 10-inch models. Now the company has added yet another slate to the shelves of its online store: the HP 8.
Available now for $169.99, the HP 8 sports a display with a resolution of 1024x768 and a size of 7.85 inches. That's not quite the 8-inch screen size that's implied by the HP 8's name, but I suppose we can let that slide. Inside of the HP 8 lives an Allwinner quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot and a 3800mAh battery. The Android 4.2.2-powered tablet also features a 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel front-facing shooter.
The HP 8 slots into Hewlett-Packard's tablet lineup as one of the more entry-level models, sporting a lower screen resolution and smaller battery than the four other Android tablets that HP recently launched. The good news is that the HP 8 also happens to be one of the cheapest slates that the company offers. Whether or not it's actually worth opening your wallet for is up to you to figure out, but I can aid in the decision-making process by pointing you in the direction of the HP 8's product page and "Add to cart" button, both of which can be found at the HP link below.
