HTC didn't make any mention of U.S. availability when it introduced us to the Desire 816 and Desire 610 last month, but if a new rumor is to be believed, the latter of the pair will soon be packing its bags and headed for a major U.S. carrier.
According to @evleaks, the HTC Desire 610 will be offered by AT&T. No details about its color options, pricing or launch date have been given, but HTC said when it announced the 610 that the device would arrive in China sometime in March before spreading to other parts of the globe in April.
The Desire 610 is part of HTC's effort to build out its mid-range portfolio and regain some of the market share that it's lost in recent years. The device is packing a 4.7-inch 960x540 display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of built-in storage that can be expanded upon with a microSD card. So yeah, the Desire 610 is definitely a middle of the pack offering. With its large-ish display and BoomSound front-facing speakers, though, it could be a nice option for price-conscious consumers so long as AT&T prices it appropriately.
