Remember last year when Google released a Nexus 7 dock several months after the tablet originally went on sale? Well prepare for a major case of déjà vu, my friend, because ASUS is now selling two different types of docks for the 2013 edition of the Nexus 7.
First up is the ASUS Dock for Nexus 7. This dock can be positioned in either landscape or portrait orientation and has a design that allows the user to simply slide their Nexus 7 into the dock to get the power juice flowing. The ASUS Dock for Nexus 7 also includes HDMI output for pushing the N7's content to an external display. Pricing for the ASUS Dock for Nexus 7 is set at $49.99.
The second new Nexus 7 dock is known as the ASUS PW100 Wireless Charging Stand. It just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? As you might've guessed, this dock allows the user to simply place the Nexus 7 or any other Qi-compatible device onto the dock to begin charging it up. The PW100 Wireless Charging Stand features a light-up ASUS LED indicator to let the user know when his or her device is charging as well as a pyramid-like design to prop a device up at a 60 degree angle. This wireless charger is a tad pricier than its plain ol' docking counterpart, with pricing set at $89.99.
It's kind of a bummer that, once again, these Nexus 7 docks are arriving months after the tablet itself went on sale. It also doesn't help that the prices for both docks seem a tad high. Still, if you're rocking a Nexus 7 and want a dock to prop it up and give it some juice, these look like two nice ways to do just that. A promo video from ASUS can be found below, and if you find that your interest has been piqued after viewing it, you can find the ASUS Dock for Nexus 7 on Amazon here and the ASUS PW100 Wireless Charging Stand right here.
