If you're afraid of following the cliche of giving your loved one flowers for Valentine's Day (or maybe your boyfriend just isn't the flower-y type - who knew?) then have no fear - PhoneDog Anna is here! Fortunately, Valentine's Day is one of those holidays where stores stay open all day long, so even if you forgot all you have to do is say you're making a quick trip to the gas station or you're going to the grocery store for that thing that you said you really needed the other day... you know, the thing? After that you're home free! The only problem is trying to figure out what your significant other would want.
I couldn't tell you what kind of jewelry they would like, or what tie looks the best with a navy blue dress shirt, or what their favorite restaurant would be. What I can tell you is all of the great deals going on in the tech world specifically for that special geek in your life. So, without further ado, let's get started!
It's odd that I mention this the day after I wrote and article explaining why I have no interest in wearable tech, however, that doesn't mean nobody has any interest in wearable tech. In fact, the Galaxy Gear is a peculiar gadget altogether; back when it first game out I was all gung-ho about it. The only problem was the expensive price tag. Coming in at nearly $300, I couldn't see why anybody would want a smartwatch that barely lasts an entire day before it needed recharging. However, for Valentine's Day it seems that Best Buy is holding a sale where the Galaxy Gear is at a more reasonable price of $150. If your man or woman has been hinting they want one to accompany their Galaxy Gear compatible smartphone, now is the best time to pick one up. Heck, pick one up for yourself if you've been thinking of getting one too - that's two for the price of one, yo!
If you've been thinking of switching carriers, now wouldn't be a bad time to check out T-Mobile (then again, when is a bad time these days?) If you've got good coverage in your area and you're sick of your current provider, T-Mobile has you covered. No, really, they want to pay for your ETF if you have one. They also don't want to bother you with contracts or phone subsidies, which can add up to costing a lot more than you would ever pay full price for a phone. They're also having some decent sales on certain smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Note II, Note 3, Sony Xperia Z (with Speakerball!), along with some other older models. You can end up saving up to $72 one select smartphone models, which is some pretty sweet savings. Plus, what kind of phone fanatic doesn't want to spend their day in a phone store looking for a new phone?
The Motorola Moto X has been frequently mentioned by tech bloggers over the past several months, and it manages to keep coming back into our sights by lowering the price on this flagship phone. The phone used to sell at a disappointingly high price, but nowadays you can pick one up for $399.99 normally, which isn't bad for a phone with Moto X's specs. However, through today you can design and pick one up for $329.99 without a contract, which saves you about $70. Pretty sweet, huh?
Okay, so nobody really thinks of Bluetooth headsets anymore, and if they do, it's probably not for Valentine's Day. Bear with me here, though, because I happen to think that a useful gift is one of the best gifts. If you have that hectic multitasker in your life that might need an extra hand, give it to them by giving them a great and comfortable Bluetooth headset! The Jawbone ERA is one of the most highly rated Bluetooth headsets in the market, and I myself have used it and find the device to be a comfortable fit. Like I said, it might sound silly, but it's a unique and useful device.
Now here's a pretty great deal if you've either been looking to switch streaming music companies or looking for a new phone. With Microsoft's XBox Music Pass Bundle you get the best of both worlds by getting an entire year's subscription to XBox Music (which is similar to services like Spotify offers) plus a free phone to use it with! You can choose from either the Nokia Lumia 520 or 521 (520 works with AT&T, 521 is for T-Mobile). That saves you about $70!
We hope that these suggestions will help you find the perfect Valentine's Day gift if you haven't already - or even just help you find something you have wanted at a great sale price!
