Our schedule for Mobile World Congress is steadily filling up. First Nokia sent out invitations for an event on Feb. 24, then Samsung said that it'd be holding a shindig of its own on that same date. Now we've got another gathering to add to the list.
Motorola has announced an event that'll take place on Tuesday, Feb. 25, in Barcelona. CEO Dennis Woodside will be in attendance to provide an update on Motorola's business, and it's expected that other higher-ups will be there as well. Moto says that more details on its Spanish soirée will be revealed as we get closer to Feb. 25.
Because Motorola is keeping its plans pretty close to its chest, it's not yet clear what the company has planned for its MWC presser. It seems likely that Lenovo's recent decision to buy Motorola from Google will be a topic of conversation, though, and it'll be interesting to hear what Dennis Woodside and Co. have to say about the deal while they're on stage and in front of a crowd of mobile journalists.
Now that you've had a few days to digest the Lenoto deal, what are your thoughts on it? Do you think it was smart for Lenovo to buy Motorola?
