Tired of ogling that Bright Red Nexus 5 on your computer screen and not having one in your hand? You can change that today, or least get the ball rolling on changing it, because Google and LG today officially put a new Bright Red version of the Nexus 5 up for sale.
The crimson handset is similar to its black and white brethren in terms of specs, meaning that it's got a 5-inch 1080p display and 1.3-megapixel camera on its face, 8-megapixel shooter on its backside and a combo of a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM buried inside of its body. Also included is NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage and a 2,300mAh battery.
Much like its spec list, the design of the red Nexus 5 is fairly similar the existing black and white variants. Like the white version, the red N5 features a colored backside and front earpiece, black rear camera housing and black power and volume buttons on its sides. One aspect of the red Nexus 5 that is different from the other models is its sides, which are colored red just like its backside.
The red Nexus 5 is now available for purchase from the Google Play Store at a price of $349 for the 16GB model and $399 for the 32GB variant. Once again, that's just like the existing black and white flavors of the N5. It's kind of a bummer that this red Nexus 5 is just now hitting the Play Store's virtual shelves, months after early adopters ordered their black or white KitKat device, but it's always good to see a phone offered in additional color options for those folks that haven't yet already bought one. And hey, if you've already got an N5 and really want this red model, there are always resale options like eBay and Craigslist.
Are any of you planning on ordering a Bright Red Nexus 5 now that it's officially official?
