Today's the day that many Windows Phone fans have been waiting for: Nokia's Lumia Black update is now rolling out to AT&T's versions of both the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. Nokia just shared the good news on Twitter, announcing that a new software update is making its way to both the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 on AT&T. The update will bump the two devices to firmware version 3051.40000.1347.1001.
Neither AT&T nor Nokia have posted full changelogs for these updates quite yet, but we do have an idea of the general improvements that come with an update to Lumia Black. Once bumped up to Lumia Black, owners of the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 will have access to goodies like an updated version of Nokia Glance Screen, Driving Mode, support for assigning custom ringtones for things like SMS and email, screen rotation lock, the ability to close running apps and many more enhancements.
If you're rocking an AT&T-branded Lumia 820 or Lumia 920, you can check for your Lumia Black update by heading into your device's Settings menu, selecting "Phone update" and then clicking "Check for updates." The Lumia Black goodness should then begin to flow into your phone. If you need some help passing the time until your update is done installing, or if you'd just like to learn more about what Nokia and Microsoft have packed into Lumia Black, you can check out the video down below for a video walkthrough of the changes contained within the update.
