Next week, most every major tech manufacturer will congregate in the Las Vegas desert for CES, bringing with them many of the shiny new wares that they intend to unleash upon the market in 2014. ZTE is no exception, and today the Chinese manufacturer gave us a preview of all of the goodies that it's packing for its trip to Vegas. ZTE's actually got quite a few products up its sleeve, so we'll break 'em down in easy-to-digest bullet point style:
- ZTE Grand S II: The successor to ZTE's flagship Grand S, this device features an emphasis on voice control and audio. That includes voice unlocking, voice-to-phone photography and three microphones for noise reduction during calls.
- ZTE nubia 5s and nubia 5s mini: These new members of the nubia family both include quad-core Snapdragon processors. The nubia 5s is the higher-end of the pair, packing a 5-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel camera with 4K video capture and and f/2.0 aperture. Meanwhile, the nubia 5s mini packs a slightly smaller 4.7-inch IGZO screen, "professional-grade photography hardware" and several color options.
- ZTE Sonata 4G: This device is headed for prepaid carrier Aio Wireless with a 4-inch display, 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM and a 5-megapixel camera. Powering the entire package is a 1780mAh battery.
- Iconic Phablet: ZTE's first phone/tablet hybrid features a 5.7-inch HD display, quad-core processor, wireless charging and a "smart viewer" feature that allows the user to view two apps on screen at the same time.
- Projector Hotspot: Exactly like it sounds, this product combines a mobile hotspot with a portable projector. It can be used to connect up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
- BlueWatch: ZTE has crafted its own smartwatch offering, just like we heard it would. The BlueWatch includes a built-in pedometer and can feed health information to the user, including body fat percentage. It can also connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth to control things like calls, photography and social networks.
- AT&T Wireless Home Base: Finally, this unit allows users to connect their home phone to AT&T's wireless network and make unlimited local and long distance calls for $20 per month.
I'd hate to see how much ZTE has to pay in baggage fees to lug all of that stuff to Las Vegas. The company's certainly bringing a wide range of hardware with it to CES 2014, including high-end hardware like the Grand S II and nubia 5s. Considering the small amount of information that we've got about those products and others like the Iconic Phablet and BlueWatch, I'm sure that there will be increased attention paid to the company at CES next week.
