Most every big tech company has something up its sleeve for CES 2014, and Pebble is no different. The smartwatch manufacturer just took to its official blog to tease that it's got "something special" to announce on Monday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. PT (9 a.m. ET). Pebble doesn't go into any detail about what it has planned, but it does say that CEO Eric Migicovsky will be delivering the news.
So what might Pebble and Eric Migicovsky have to say next week? The first thing that springs to mind is a new smartwatch. After all, much of the tech world operates on a yearly product cycle, and it was actually at CES 2013 that Pebble announced the date on which it would begin shipping its smartwatch to Kickstarter backers. Pebble also recently announced plans to launch its own official app store in early 2014, and having some new hardware to release alongside the opening of that market could be a nice way for the firm to really make waves in the smartwatch market.
Of course, nothing is official until the Pebblers say it is, so for now we'll just have to sit and speculate about what we'll hear about next Monday morning. The good news is that that's only a few days away, so we don't have long to wait until all is revealed. Until then, why not kill some time by dropping your guesses as to what Pebble is planning in the comments below?
