After first teasing the Find 7 with a simple "Coming Soon" image last week, tonight Oppo dropped a hint about what will likely end up as its new smartphone's major features. Oppo posted the image you see above to its various social network accounts along with the tagline "Find 5 was the world’s first smartphone with a 5” 1080p display. The Find 7 is taking this one step further. #AlwaysImprove #Find7." The aforementioned image includes the words "2K Display" beneath the Find 7's name.
As the smartphone world increasingly becomes a sea of full-touch slabs, manufacturers have been working to one-up each other with high-end specs to make their devices stand out. Screen resolution is one of the features that've been steadily increasing as of late, and it looks like Oppo will be stepping up its display game with the Find 7.
The Find 7's 2K display is one of the first features of the device that's been confirmed by Oppo, but the rumor mill has suggested that the next Find-branded phone will sport a 5.7-inch screen, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805 processor and 13-megapixel rear camera. We'll just have to wait and see if those rumored features hold true, but considering that the Find 7 will include a 2K display, I'm betting that Oppo will go all-out on at least a few of the phone's other specs as well.
UPDATE: As noted by Blake Zaide, a former Oppo executive recently said that the Find 7's display won't be 5.7 or 7 inches in size.
