Not quite feeling that white Nokia Lumia 929 that leaked out over the weekend? Perhaps the black version is more your style. Some new photos that claim to show the black version of the Verizon-bound Lumia 929 have been shared by PhoneArena, giving us another peek at the dark-colored handset and its Verizon tattoos in the wild.
The Lumia 929 shown in these latest shots looks fairly similar to the other units that've surfaced to date. It's got Verizon and Nokia branding in the upper corners of its face, some Verizon and 4G LTE tattoos on its backside and a PureView-branded rear camera with flash. An image of the phone's side gives us a peek at its dedicated camera button, while the photo of its front shows that its running Windows Phone 8 Update 3 with an extra column of Live Tiles.
Nokia's new Lumia 929 is expected to be the follow-up to the Lumia 928 that launched earlier this year, and while the model numbers of these two phones may not be all that different, the Lumia 929 is rumored to be getting some noteworthy spec bumps. Those include a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, up from the Lumia 928's 4.5-inch 1280x768 screen, and a jump from a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor in the Lumia 928 to a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip in the Lumia 929. The Lumia 929 is also expected to sport a 20-megapixel rear camera, up from the 8.7-megapixel shooter found on the Lumia 928.
Neither Nokia nor Verizon have made any mention of the Lumia 929, so for now it's unclear when the device will finally make its way onto store shelves. The good news for Windows Phone-hungry Verizon customers is that there's been quite a few leaks of the device to help satiate their appetite while we wait for launch.
