Official Smartphone Rankings -- week 90

The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 remain comfortable in the #1 positions of the people and the experts, respectively, for week 90 on PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings. After 36 weeks in the people’s first place spot, the HTC One has proven its dominance week after week. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has prevailed with our mobile tech experts for a sixth straight week.  With 2014 fast approaching, will both these powerhouse smartphones close out the year on top?

MT PLEASANT, SC – November 25, 2013 – For 90 weeks, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has been the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts.  The HTC One topped the People’s Choice chart for a staggering 36th straight week, garnering 287 votes.  The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 finished in first place on the Expert’s Choice chart for another week with 46 points.

After losing a spot to the Google Nexus 5 during week 88, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 jumped back up and has maintained its second place position on the People’s Choice chart for two weeks now, earning 196 votes this week.  The Nexus 5 didn’t fall far, though, following closely in third with 160 votes.  Rounding out the top 5, the LG G2 held fourth place with 81 votes and the Apple iPhone 5s secured the fifth place spot with 47 votes.

On the Expert’s Choice chart, the Apple iPhone 5s remained in second place with 36 points and the Nexus 5 finished in third with 30 points.  Movement did occur farther down the list, as the Samsung Galaxy S 4 rose to fourth place with 20 points, sending the HTC One to fifth with 19 points.

“With the end of 2013 in sight, I can’t wait to see if the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 continue to dominate the OSR,” said Rebecca Atwood, Senior Business Manager at PhoneDog Media.  “Being so involved with the OSR for almost two years now, I’m excited to see how this year closes out and what new devices will compete for the top spot in 2014 and beyond.”
