MetroPCS is about to get Mega-sized. The T-Mobile-owned prepaid operator announced today that it will begin selling the Samsung Galaxy Mega online and in stores on Nov. 25 at a price as low as $349 plus tax. That price includes a couple of instant rebates, including a $100 discount that MetroPCS says is in effect "for the holiday season" and a $50 rebate that's available for new customers that buy the Galaxy Mega in a MetroPCS store.
The big (hardy har har) feature of the Galaxy Mega is its 6.3-inch 1280x720 Super Clear LCD display, which is one of the largest smartphone screens available. Also included with the Galaxy Mega is an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooter, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 3200mAh battery and Android 4.2. Obviously the Galaxy Mega's size won't be a good fit for everyone's hands and pockets, but for MetroPCS customers that enjoy consuming media or just want a big ol' screen, the Mega could be worth a look.
MetroPCS also reiterated that its rate plans and service are coming to an additional 15 markets across the U.S. today, bringing the total number of cities with access to MetroPCS's offerings up to 45. The full list of markets that are welcoming MetroPCS to town today is available below.
