Earlier this week, Motorola caught quite a few folks by surprise when it announced that the Verizon version of the Moto X was receiving its update to Android 4.4, beating both its siblings on other carriers and even some Nexus hardware to KitKat. Since then we've been waiting to see which of the Moto X variants is next in line to be bumped up to KitKat, and thanks to a leaked email, we may now have the answer.
An email shared with Android Central has revealed that Motorola is in the process of inviting AT&T Moto X owners to take part in a soak test of a new software update. The email doesn't say when the test will get underway or what improvements the update contains, but it's worth noting that not only did the Verizon Moto X recently get moved up to Android 4.4, but Motorola also teased at the time that it'd have more KitKat news for other carriers "very soon." If I were an AT&T Moto X user, I'd be preparing myself for a chocolate-covered pile of wafers right about now.
