Just a couple of weeks after Ting added its first bit of iPhone support, the Sprint MVNO recently announced that its service can now be used with another high-profile smartphone. The Nexus 5 can now be brought onto the Ting service as part of an "open beta," giving customers of the prepaid provider access to some of the freshest Android hardware available. In order to bring a Nexus 5 onto Ting, consumers will need to snag a Nexus 5 from Google Play and then sign up for Ting's Nexus 5 SIM card priority list.
Right now it sounds like the actual process of bringing the Nexus 5 onto Ting could take a little time; not only are new orders of the Nexus 5 from the Play Store not expected to ship until the end of November at the earliest, but Ting says that it's contacting users in small groups because its Nexus 5 SIM cards are in "very short supply." Still, it's good to see support for another big-time device added to Ting, especially so soon after the Nexus 5's initial launch. If the combination of KitKat, the Nexus 5 and Ting service sounds like an intriguing concoction to you, you can read up on the entire activation process by hovering your cursor over that Ting link below and clicking away.
