It looks like the Pebble smartwatch is about to get some company on Best Buy's shelves. MetaWatch has revealed to The Dallas Morning News that its two smartwatches, the Strata and Frame, will officially go on sale in Best Buy stores and on the retailer's website on Nov. 3. The Strata will be available for $179 and the Frame will be priced at $229. Both models connect to an Android or iOS device over Bluetooth and can display notifications for things like texts, emails and calls and can also control music playback.
The smartwatch market has exploded in the past year or so thanks at least in part to devices from Pebble and MetaWatch making waves on Kickstarter. Recently we've seen new smartwatch offerings from large companies like Samsung and Qualcomm, and other firms like Apple, Google and Microsoft are all rumored to be cooking up their own additions to the smartwatch category.
As for MetaWatch, the company's watches are currently only sold through its online shop, and so a presence in Best Buy's stores and website is a pretty big deal.
