Samsung has shown that there isn't a phone form factor that it doesn't love, offering up big handsets, small handsets, curved display devices and Android-powered flip phones. Today details on another one of the South Korean firm's unique offerings have surfaced thanks to China's TENAA certification database.
The device you see above is the Samsung SM-W2014, a golden clamshell that runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and features a pair of 3.67-inch OLED displays. Under its hood is a 2.3GHz quad-core processor that's said to be of the Snapdragon 800 variety, which would make this a pretty powerful little flip phone, as well as 2GB RAM. Samsung has also equipped its latest Android flip phone with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and a microSD card slot.
The vast majority of Android devices that we see nowadays are large touchscreen phones, so these clamshell devices from Samsung serve as a nice change of pace from the stream of slate-style handsets. Unfortunately, it seems likely that this SM-W2014 will only see the fluorescent light of retail stores in China. That's not a surprise, especially considering that other Samsung-made clamshells like the SCH-W789 and Galaxy Golden also saw limited releases, but it's still kind of a bummer for those of us looking to try something new.
