In week 82 on PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings, the Apple iPhone 5s continued to climb the People’s Choice chart, displacing the Samsung Galaxy Note II and taking the third place position. At third on the People’s Choice chart and first on the Expert’s Choice chart for a second week in a row, Apple’s newest smartphone is challenging the Android establishment. Can the new HTC One, LG G2, Moto X, and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 work together to reclaim the top spots?
MT PLEASANT, SC – October 2, 2013 – For 82 weeks, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has been the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week. Last week, the Apple iPhone 5s topped the HTC One on the Expert’s Choice chart, pushing the popular Android phone out of the first place position for the first time in 26 weeks. Available in space gray, silver, and gold, the iPhone 5s is available at Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and select regional and prepaid carriers. Despite the increase, HTC’s One held the first place spot on the People’s Choice chart for another week, obtaining a total of 501 reader votes.
The LG G2 retained its second place position on the People’s Choice chart for another week with 155 votes, while third place was awarded to the Apple iPhone 5s with 133 votes. The Galaxy S 4 dropped to fourth place on the People’s Choice chart with 92 votes, while the Samsung Galaxy Note II fell to fifth place with 81 votes. On the Expert’s Choice Chart, the HTC One remained in second place with 36 points, while the Samsung Galaxy S 4 held the third place position with 29 points. In fourth place, the customizable Moto X, obtaining 22 points. Rounding out the list in fifth place, the LG G2 with 17 points. A new high-end smartphone, the LG G2 features a Snapdragon 800 processor and availability on multiple U.S. carriers.
