Rumors and rumblings of smartphones with flexible displays are nothing new in the mobile world, but apparently Samsung is planning to put an end to the speculation and actually bring such a device to market in the near future.
A report from Reuters notes that D.J. Lee, Samsung's head of mobile strategic marketing, revealed at a Galaxy Note 3 launch event in South Korea today that Samsung plans to launch a smartphone with a flexible display in October. Unfortunately for us, Lee didn't divulge any other details about the device itself or exactly when in October it'll debut.
It's kind of tough to really get a feel for Samsung's plans at this point since we've got so little information to go on. Still, a smartphone with a curved display is a pretty intriguing concept, and it'll be interesting to just how much of a curve the screen has and what it's like to use such a display. Good thing that October is less than a week away.
What do you think of the idea of a smartphone with a curved display? Is that something that interests you or is there some other new and exciting smartphone feature that you'd like to see more of?
