Nokia October 22 innovation reinvented teaser

Grab your calendar and turn in your vacation notice, Nokia fans, because the Finnish phone manufacturer looks like it's got something big planned for Oct. 22. Nokia just posted the image you see above to its official Twitter account along with the tagline "At Nokia, we never stop innovating. More to share on October 22 #Nokia #innovationreinvented."

Nokia hasn't shed much more light on what it's got planned for this Oct. 22 announcement, which I suppose is why they call these things teasers. If the rumor mill is to be believed, though, the Windows Phone maker will use the event to introduce us to the Lumia 1520. Expected to be the first Windows Phone in the phone/tablet hybrid category of devices, the 1520 will reportedly pack a 6-inch 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 20-megapixel camera and 3400mAh battery.

As far as an actual launch goes, the Lumia 1520 is said to be bound for AT&T here in the U.S., with a release possibly scheduled for Nov. 8. That may seem far off now, but it would only be a couple of weeks after Nokia's Oct. 22 announcement, and it'd be great to see the 1520 land on store shelves in such a timely manner. Now that the Lumia 1520 is starting to get close, do you plan on checking out this oversized Lumia whenever it does make the jump from the sandy dunes of Rumorville to the bright, fluorescent lights of Officialton?
