Apparently Virgin Mobile is in a new phone mood. After launching the waterproof Reef in late August and then adding the entry-level Awe earlier this week, the prepaid Sprint subsidiary today unleashed another Android-powered smartphone into its lineup.

The latest phone to join Virgin Mobile is the Supreme. Made by ZTE, the Supreme features a 5-inch 1280x720 IPS display, which Virgin Mobile says is the largest screen in its lineup. Inside of the Supreme lives a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 8GB storage, microSD card slot, 1GB RAM and a 2500mAh battery. Also included with this new Virgin and ZTE collaboration is a 13-megapixel rear camera, 1-megapixel front-facing shooter, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and support for both 4G LTE connectivity and HD Voice.

With its dual-core processor, LTE support and a large, high-res display, the Supreme has instantly become one of the highest-end handsets that Virgin Mobile offers. The Supreme appears to be a rebadged version of the ZTE Vital that launched at Sprint a few months ago, but it's still good to see Virgin Mobile adding some beefier hardware to its lineup, and I'm sure that fans of big smartphone displays are happy that VM's got a device whose size approaches the phone/tablet hybrid category. The Virgin Mobile Supreme is now available for $299.99 with no contract.
