The smartphone availability announcements are coming hard and fast today. Sprint is the latest carrier with some news to share, announcing that it customers will be able to order the 16GB Moto X both in its stores and online starting tomorrow, Sept. 6, for $199.99 with a two-year commitment. The big yellow carrier is also offering a $100 credit to any new customers that come to it from another carrier, which would knock the Moto X's price down to $99.99.
Sprint has said that it plans to begin offering the Moto Maker customization tool to its subscribers in the coming months. The tool, which allows customers to change the colors of their Moto X and add a custom boot message, is currently exclusive to AT&T.
The Moto X made its debut last month with a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display, 10-megapixel rear camera and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Since then it's steadily been making its way into the stores of more and more U.S. carriers, and it's good to see that Sprint customers will soon have access to Motorola's latest handset. The Sprint Moto X will support Hesse and Co.'s 4G LTE network, which is live in 151 markets as of this writing, as well as quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS for global roaming.
