Own a BlackBerry 10-powered smartphone on T-Mobile? If so, you'll want to keep an eye out for a new software update that's headed your way. T-Mobile has revealed in its official support forums that starting today, Sept. 5, it's rolling out an update to the BlackBerry Q10 and Z10 that brings with it Wi-Fi Calling as well as improved performance and a couple of bug fixes. The official changelog is as follows:
BlackBerry OS 10.1.0.4780 (SW Release 10.1.0.4200) - Current version
Features
- Adds Wi-Fi Calling functionality
- Wi-Fi Calling allows you to send and receive calls and messages over a Wi-Fi connection.
Improvements
- Improves device restarting during normal use
- Resolves 4G displaying when switching access points
That may not be the biggest list of changes that we've ever seen, but Wi-Fi Calling is a big addition that I'm sure many T-Mobile folks will be excited to get. The update is available over the air and can be requested by heading into Settings > Software Updates > Update. Users can also install the update through BlackBerry Link on their computer.
