Wednesday is going to be a big day in mobile, as both Samsung and Sony have events planned and new products to show. While each company is expected to have a new smartphone on display, we'll also likely see new non-phone hardware from them both, including a smartwatch from Samsung and some camera attachments for phones from Sony. There's some good news today for the more impatient folks out there, though, as new details on Sony's "lens camera" accessories have leaked out.

A new report from SonyAlphaRumors, these smartphone attachments will be known as "Smart Shot" when they launch, which is a combination of the word smartphone and Sony's "Cyber Shot" brand. The hardware will allegedly connect with Android and iOS phones over Wi-Fi and NFC and will function using an app called Playmemories. It's said that users will be able to make adjustments to zoom, exposure, white balance and focus on their phones, and images will be saved both to the handset and the Smart Shot itself.

In addition to the black model that leaked out earlier this month, new images have shown that Sony may be prepping white and gold versions of the Smart Shot hardware. Pricing will reportedly be set at $250 for the QX10, which features a 1/2.3 inch 18-megapixel CMOS sensor and f/3.3-5.9 lens, while the higher-end QX100 and its 20.2-megapixel sensor will carry a price tag of $450.
