If you're a new Nexus 7 owner that's been experiencing multitouch issues, you may want to keep an eye out for an update. Google employee Paul W. has announced that a new system update has begun rolling out to the new Nexus 7 that addresses the touchscreen problems that some users have been experiencing. Users in the XDA-Developers forums report that this update brings the Nexus 7 up to build JSS15Q.
Considering how important multitouch can be to certain aspects of using a mobile device, it's kind of a bummer to hear that some folks are running into touchscreen issues on their shiny new Nexus 7s. The good news is that it didn't take Google terribly long to push out an update to address the problem. We'll have to wait until the new software makes its way to more users before celebrating too much, but for now I'm optimistic that these touch problems will soon be a thing of the past. UPDATE: In a separate Google Product Forums thread, Paul W. has confirmed that this update's build number is JSS15Q. He also revealed that the update addresses an issue with the Nexus 7's GPS connectivity. The update is now rolling out to users.
