Just one week after Samsung officially introduced its Android-powered SCH-W789 flip phone, the South Korean firm has announced a second, higher-end clamshell with Andy inside.
Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Golden (SHV-E400), this new flip phone sports a pair of 3.7-inch Super AMOLED displays, which are a tad larger than the 3.3-inch screens found on the aforementioned SCH-W789. The Galaxy Golden also includes an 8-megapixel rear camera, FM radio support, 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The Galaxy Golden's 3.7-inch screens may sound kind of small compared to the 5-inch-and-larger displays found on many Android smartphones lately, but the Golden's dual displays actually look fairly sizable for a flip phone. Mixing those large-ish screens with specs like a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.2 help to make the Galaxy Golden an interesting device beyond the novelty of it being an Android-powered flip phone.
Samsung says that the Galaxy Golden will be sold by the carriers SK Telecom and KT for 790,000 won (around $707 USD). Just as with the SCH-W789, it's unlikely that the Galaxy Golden will ever make the journey to U.S. store shelves, but we can still gawk at its official imagery thanks to the wonders of the Internet.
