AT&T has been steadily expanding its 4G LTE network for some time now, and now the big blue carrier has revealed where it plans to take its LTE service through the remainder of 2013. AT&T today revealed a list of 50 markets that will be lit up with its LTE coverage before the end of the year as well as a handful of cities with new and expanded coverage that's now live. The lists are pretty diverse, with cities ranging from Kauai, Hawaii, to Des Moines, Iowa, and Utica-Rome, N.Y. all expected to gain AT&T LTE before the calendar flips over to 2014.
AT&T's 4G LTE service is currently available to 225 million consumers in 370 markets. By the time that 2013 comes to an end, though, those numbers will grow to 270 million people in more than 400 locales. That's still not quite enough to make AT&T the LTE market leader, but it does help the operator to extend its second place lead.
As usual, you can bet that I'll give you a shout once AT&T's LTE network has gone live in a particular market. Below are the the lists of new and expanded service that's being activated today as well as all 50 of the towns that'll be lit up by the end of 2013.
