It was nearly a month ago when we first learned that Verizon may be planning to launch the Moto X on Aug. 23, and in the time since then the device has gone from being the star of the leaky spotlight to an official product that we've even spent some hands-on time with. One thing that apparently hasn't changed, though, is Verizon's Moto X release date.

Android Central has posted a photo of an inventory screen from a "major retailer" that's said to belong to the Verizon Moto X. According to the screen, this particular retailer expects to begin receiving stock of Verizon's Moto X variant on Aug. 15, with a street date scheduled for one week later. While there's no price included in today's leaked photo, Motorola has previously said that the Moto X will carry a suggested retail price of $199.99 with a two-year contract.

For those that've been under a rock for the past week (or would just like a spec refresher), the Moto X features a 4.7-inch 1080p display, Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System (includes 1.7GHz dual-core Krait CPU, quad-core Adreno 320 GPU), 10-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Verizon will sell the Moto X in both woven black and woven white initially, and the carrier has said that it will start participating in the Moto Maker customization program later this year.

As with all leaks, nothing is official until we hear it straight from a carrier or manufacturer. The fact that this is the second time that Aug. 23 has been named as a potential Verizon Moto X launch date certainly gives it some more credibility, though, and so it may not be a bad idea for anyone that's planning on getting their Moto X with some Verizon flavoring to begin counting their pennies soon. Once the date is nice and official, I'll give you a shout.
