Nokia's "Zoom. Reinvented." event is now just a few hours away, but that doesn't mean that we can't squeeze in another leak of the guest of honor. New images of the Nokia Lumia 1020 have made their way online this morning courtesy of The Verge, offering a clear look at the next flagship Lumia in black, white and yellow outfits. The shots also show the Lumia 1020's camera grip accessory, which appears to turn the device into a point-and-shoot-style camera and includes a USB port, battery, tripod mount and two-stage camera button.
Some additional Lumia 1020 spec details have also leaked out this morning. The phone formerly known as "EOS" is expected to pack a 4.5-inch AMOLED display, 32GB built-in storage, 2GB RAM and a front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens. The star of the Lumia 1020 show will be its 41-megapixel PureView camera, which will pack a Xenon flash, f/2.2 lens and optical image stabilization.
Nokia is planning to give Lumia 1020 users the ability to fine-tune the controls of the 41-megapixel shooter through a new Pro Camera app that'll include controls for things like white balance, ISO and shutter speed. Screenshots of the Pro Camera app, which includes the option to take two differently-sized photos at once, have been shared by @ViziLeaks and can be found below.
At this point, it seems as though we've got a pretty good idea of what makes the Lumia 1020 tick. While some aspects of the Lumia 1020 may not look all that different from the Lumia 920, the new model does offer a "true" 41-megapixel PureView camera will likely be enough to get many Windows Phone fans to upgrade. What will be interesting is seeing whether or not the fact Nokia is now pairing a 41-megapixel camera with a modern OS, rather than the 41MP-Symbian combo of the 808 PureView, will be enough to convince many non-Windows Phone users to pull the trigger.
UPDATE: Someone working AT&T's YouTube channel apparently couldn't wait to share the news of the Lumia 1020, as the official ShareATT account has just posted a trio of brief promo videos highlighting the zoom, low-light and video performance of the device. You can find all three videos on AT&T's channel right here, but considering that the Lumia 1020 hasn't actually been announced yet, they may not stay live for long.
