So far, BlackBerry has only revealed a couple of small tidbits about BlackBerry 10.2, the next major update to its mobile operating system. Thankfully some leaks have also surfaced to satiate our hunger for new mobile goodness, including an early peek at the update and some of the its new features in action. The BlackBerry 10.2 leaks continue today, as CrackBerry forums member Kris Simundson (the same person responsible for the last 10.2 leak) has posted some screenshots that show off more of BB 10.2's goodies.
One of the most notable inclusions in BlackBerry 10.2 is actionable notifications, which allows a user to interact with a notification right when they get it. In the example above, we can see the user replying to a message directly from the toast notification at the top of the display. Users can interact with a notification simply by pulling down on it as it comes in. Other new notifications options included in BlackBerry 10.2 include the ability to view the alerts on the phone's lock screen and the option of turning off notifications completely.
Another feature shown in today's leak is Wi-Fi Direct support. This feature enables users to connect with other Wi-Fi Direct-capable hardware in order to display or share content, sync or even print. Additional goodies revealed in this leaked batch of screenshots include an App Manager and a native Evernote app.
With the features show in today's leak as well as the ones from last month, BlackBerry 10.2 is shaping up to be a pretty exciting update for users of the platform. The bad news here is that there's still no word on when the 10.2 update will actually begin rolling out to users, so for now we'll just have to get by with these leaks.
