The Pebble smartwatch made headlines last year when it earned over $10.2 million on Kickstarter, and the device has steadily been making its way to backers throughout 2013. Now anyone that's been interested in a Pebble but wasn't able to participate in the Kickstarter will soon be able to pick up a unit of their own, as the Pebble watch will soon be available from Best Buy stores.
Pebble announced today that its smartwatch will be available exclusively at Best Buy stores starting Sunday, July 7, for $149.99. The device is also available on Best Buy's website starting today. The "Jet Black" Pebble will be the first model sold by Best Buy, with "Cherry Red" units expected to go on sale at the big box retailer in August. Customers interested in an Orange, Grey or Arctic White Pebble can pre-order a device through the official getpebble.com site.
Smartwatches have quickly become one of the most talked-about products in the mobile space, and the Pebble's Kickstarter success has helped it to become one of the biggest devices in its category. Many consumers are likely curious about the Pebble after hearing about its Kickstarter project last year, and now that the device will be available at Best Buy, those folks will finally get the opportunity to see one in the wild and buy one for themselves. Do any of you have a Pebble watch? If so, what do you think about it?
