Around the same time as the launch of Verizon's Galaxy S III last year, Samsung revealed its plans to offer a "Developer Edition" of the device that would feature an unlockable bootloader, allowing buyers to tweak the phone as much as they'd like. Now it looks like Samsung may have similar plans for its new Galaxy S 4.

The folks over at Phandroid have discovered product pages for "Developer Edition" versions of AT&T and Verizon's Galaxy S 4s. The devices look pretty much the same as a regular Galaxy S 4, packing 16GB of storage, carrier branding and 4G LTE support for their respective operators. There doesn't appear to be an option for a White Frost version on either model's product page, so for now it looks like interested customers can have any color they want as long as it's black.

As far as availability goes, the pages for both Developer Edition Galaxy S 4s promise that the devices are "coming soon." There's no mention of pricing, but considering that Samsung's Developer Edition Galaxy S III was priced at $599.99, I wouldn't be surprised to see these Galaxy S 4 models carry full retail price tags as well.

Google has already announced plans to release a "Google Edition" of the Galaxy S 4 that will play nice with AT&T, but this Developer Edition Galaxy S 4 could be a nice option for folks that want the choice of jumping between TouchWiz or some other ROM. Meanwhile, Verizon customers won't have access to that Google Galaxy S 4, so this Developer Edition will be the only option for folks on Big Red that want to tinker around with Samsung's latest.
