T-Mobile first teased its new 4G LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy S III variant back in January at CES, but since then the magenta operator hasn't uttered a word about the device. It appears that the LTE Galaxy S III is finally about to land on store shelves, though, as our pals at TmoNews have gotten hold of a photo that shows that a shipment of white 16GB units are headed to at least one T-Mobile store. Unfortunately, there's still no word on exactly when T-Mobile's LTE Galaxy S III will launch or how much it'll cost when it does.
The idea of re-releasing the Galaxy S III with LTE support might sound silly, but doing so will serve a couple of purposes. It'll help to expand T-Mobile's LTE-capable smartphone lineup, which currently consists of three devices, and it'll (hopefully) be a low-cost option for T-Mo customers in the hunt for an affordable LTE handset. T-Mobile's non-LTE Galaxy S III is listed for $69.99, so it'd be nice to see T-Mobile offer its LTE Galaxy S III for at least the same price, if not a lower one. Stay tuned and we'll give you a shout once we get the official details from Big Magenta.
