Hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy Reverb's update to Android 4.1.2, it appears that one of Boost Mobile's Galaxy-branded handsets is receiving a Jelly Bean update of its own. PhoneDog reader John pinged us to say that the Galaxy Rush is now being updated to Jelly Beam, and a quick visit to Samsung's website confirms that that is indeed the case. Samsung says that the update will bring the Galaxy Rush up to Android 4.1.2, baseband version M830VPMD5, and that the new software began rolling out over the air on May 16.

Just as with the Galaxy Reverb's update yesterday, Samsung hasn't posted an actual changelog for the Galaxy Rush's bump up to Android 4.1.2. Since we know that the Rush is moving from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean, though, owners should expect to find goodies such as Google Now, expandable notifications and an all-around smoother experience thanks to Project Butter.

The Samsung Galaxy Rush originally launched on Boost Mobile back in September 2012. Fast-forward to today, and low-end handset is now packing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is something that even some high-end Android phones can't say. This update ought to breathe some new life into the Galaxy Rush, and so anyone that's rocking this Boost-branded handset will want to keep an eye out for their own taste of Jelly Bean in the coming days.
