After more leaks and teasers than anyone could keep track of, the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon is now officially official. Verizon just announced that the new Lumia will be launching on May 16 for $99.99 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate. Nokia and Verizon also note that, for a limited time, they'll be throwing in a $25 Windows Phone Store gift card for apps and games with every Lumia 928 purchase. Here's a quick rundown of exactly what features the Lumia 928 will sport once it lands on Verizon's shelves:
The Lumia 928 is Verizon's second Nokia Windows Phone device, following the Lumia 822 that launched late last year. The Lumia 928 is the quite a bit higher-end than the Lumia 822, though, meaning that Verizon customers that've been lusting after the AT&T-exclusive Lumia 920 since November 2012 can finally get a comparable model on their own carrier.
One disappointing aspect of the Lumia 928 is the fact that it'll only be offered in black or white, especially since the Lumia 822 launched with more color options. However, I'm sure that many Windows Phone fans on Verizon are just glad to be getting a high-end Lumia model to call their own. UPDATE: Nokia has revealed that the full retail price of the Lumia 928 is $499.99.
