When Facebook Home launched one month ago, it did so with support for just a handful of different Android smartphones. The number of Home-capable handsets appears to have grown recently, though, as new flagship phones like the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 are now able to use Facebook's special launcher.
Android Central notes that the official Facebook for Android app (not the Home app) received an update on May 9, following a small Facebook press event at which the company said that Home has been installed one million times. Post-update, the HTC One is now able to run Facebook Home without issue. The Samsung Galaxy S 4 and Sony Xperia ZL are also able to use Home after the Facebook app update, and though those devices display a warning that they're "not supported yet," Home works on them without issue.
Facebook said at its Home launch event that the new launcher would eventually support both the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4, so it's no surprise to see that the app is now compatible with both models, though it is a little strange that the Galaxy S 4 doesn't seem to be "officially" supported quite yet. Whatever is going on here, it's good to see that the list of Facebook Home-capable devices is growing. The Facebook-focused app may not be everyone's cup of tea, but at least now more folks can try out its Cover Feed and Chat Heads for themselves.
